Dot, L, line, cross.
Flip your attention to the top. Ignore corners completely — this stage only cares about the four yellow edge stickers, and they're currently showing one of four patterns:
Yellow cross
F R U R' U' F'
Sandwich: F opens, the trigger's first four moves run, F' closes.
Play on the 3D cube- 1Identify your pattern: dot, L, or line.
- 2Hold the cube so an L sits in the back-left corner of the top face, or a line runs horizontally. The dot works from any angle.
- 3Run F R U R' U' F'. The pattern climbs one rung: dot → L → line → cross.
- 4Re-orient per step 2 and repeat until the yellow cross appears.
Tip
Notice you already know every move in this algorithm — F, then the trigger, then F'. From here to the end of the solve, nothing new is asked of your hands, only of your eyes.

Yellow cross
F R U R' U' F'
Yellow on top, green in front: the case is set up first, then the algorithm plays one move at a time. Drag the cube to look around it.

2 short exercises with this lesson's algorithm. You turn the cube; it checks the result and helps with any wrong turn.
- You have a line, held horizontally. Make the yellow cross.
- An L, held at the back-left. Climb to the cross.
